Maple Quarter Sawn

The heartwood is a uniform pale reddish-brown or light tan, the sapwood is white with reddish tinge. It typically has straight grain, which can sometimes be wavy or curly, and a fine, even texture. Other kinds of decorative figuring which are commonly found include Curly (Light Figure) fiddleback (Heavy Figure), birds-eye and burl maple.
